Surface area and volume in cells in regards to mammals that live in cold and warm areas?

the mammals living in colder envirnments have thicker shape and thicker extremities because it's so cold that they need to be warmer...........it's the opposite with mammals that live in warmer environments.....their shape and extremities are thinner because they don't need the warmth as much. it's as easy as that.......i think.
