How do i make an internet connection?

I Just Rebooted my Dimension 2400 and it has NOTHING on it. i use a D-Link motem with fios and im on the other computer connected to the network. its not dialup i think... its Broadband but i cant figure out how to make the connection. and yes. the cable is plugged in. first thing i checked. Also, when im in Network connections, there is nothing there including Local Area connection, i mean NOTHING.
