Why is it that we are so drawn to people with unbearably strong personalities/attitudes a lot of times?

Think about it........ for those of you who like the Judge Mathis show, he is one who will "tell it like it is", no matter whose feelings he may hurt. And other people like Nancy Grace, Judge Judy, Rosie O'Donnell.....even Janice inson, sometimes can come off offensive, but we still like them for some reason. However, if we were face-to-face with these people, I can pretty much guarantee that we will see them in a different perspective. Even in reality, we come in contact with people who REALLY are like the Judge Mathises of the world, you know, bitterly honest and very opinionated (no matter how valid or invalid they may be).........but there's something about their personalities and attitudes that we are drawn to. Hairdresser mistook dandruff for head lice?

I am a regular a relatively high end salon, and the stylist I usually go to was not available, so I went to someone different. She was very nice and personable at first, but then after she finished my color, she approached me and said that I have head lice. At this point I was mortified and wanted to run out of the salon. After I left, I went home and had my mom take a look at my hair to check it out. My mom has dealt with head lice on many occasions between my siblings and I growing up, so she knows what to look for. Anyway, she looked and looked and found absolutely nothing. My head doesnt itch, and I myself have found NO indication whatsoever that I have head lice. I do however, have dandruff. I am thinking that she may have mistaken the dandruff for head lice. Now, I am extremely upset about this, embared and I feel that she made a terrible mistake. What should I do in this situation?

Zippo lighter problem?

i have a zippo that takes awhile to light. its not a stupid obvious problem, new wick, wove it in with the cotton real good, cut it at the top of the chimney, flint is just fine, theres fuel in it. it takes many many attempts at sparking before it lights, it sparks every time, i know there's fuel on the wick because if i put a bic to in for half a second, it lights and stays lit, and i can't think what else it could be. anyone have any ideas?

Why do blueberry smoothies congeal?

My blueberry drinks (after only a short while in the fridge) congeal. The solid floats to the bottom and yellow liquid floats to the top. What - specifically - in the blueberries causes the drink to congeal, whereas other berries don't have the same problem? Canned blueberries don't do this... I have an "Out of Range" error on my plasma. What does this mean and how do I correct it?

I have a Pioneer 50" PDP-503cmx Plasma with BNC connectors and BNC adapters to run the RCA GBR cables for viewing. It also supports VGA. Along with the GBR connections it has HD and VD connections. Inputs 1 & 2 are VGA to DVI for input 1, GBR, HD & VD for input 2. When I change from input 1 that displays my computer to input 2 that should show my HDTV it flashs an error of "Caution Out of Range" and then flashs off. When I try an access the onscreen menu to change settings it won't allow me to do so, but when I change back to input 1 it will. Any ideas? Thanks.

It's hot, and tangy, clears out the sinuses. Can anyone tell me what it is in horseradish that attacks the sinuses so? Are there any ways to get that delicious flavor and warmth without suffering pain? Gives me a runny nose and heartburn if I eat too much, so we can't keep it in the house or I'll eat it with every meal! I'll put my horseradish on just about any kind of meat. At the point where one has to have faith in something unproven, a past life, one has to still use faith and not one's own head. There are only two questions on the application and those are: Have you ever been convicted of a felony?, and Have you ever been denied a license in the state of Texas?" The answer to the first is obvious, yes. The answer to the second is yes, because he took insurance courses for health and life insurance, ped, and applied to the state of Texas and was denied. He is so discouraged, has been truly sorry for his past and is highly embarred about it. He has a heart of gold and is a Believer and at this point just has lost hope that he will ever be good enough to get a good paying job with benefits. He is so mechanically talented, he is under-payed and a hard-worker. Is there anyone that can help with advice on how to get him approved on getting his license for Air Conditioning? We are already in the process of writing a letter requesting a pardon to the Governor, but at this point we do not have high expectations for the system.

Okay, my brake lights are not working at all. Every time I hit the right blinker, it blows the fuse. The left blinker works fine, but when i do hit the brake, you can tell it is using a lot of power. I think it has something to do with the google updater, im not sure... i turn on my computer and there is no desktop just my background. Before this happend it kept bringing me to random websites and i could also not see pictures on the internet just a blank picture. I have dislocated lenses without marfans, when can i get MY eyes back?

This starts so long ago... I am currently 22 years old. I was born with ectopia lentis (Dislocated Lenses) I DO NOT have marfans or anything like it. I'm healthy in pretty much every other way. APPARENTLY, that is just crazy. The only explanation anyone can come up with is that my head was so big when i was born... i doubt that. My head wasn't HUGE, 14 inches around on a 6 lb baby WAS odd looking... but could that have caused dislocated lenses?? Anyways, when i was 7 i had to have my left Lens removed. Yes, i have been living without a natural Lens in my eye for over 15 years now. I hate to complain because it is a remarkable thing that i can see at all.. but the thick, visible, uncomfortable, contacts i've been having to wear for a decade and a half is really getting old. Last time i asked, the Dr's told me i could have an artificial Lens put in, in my late 20's - early 30's. I'm ready to be able to SEE when i wake up in the morning... not to mention it's SO expensive, and ophthalmologist have a difficult time getting my prescription right, all the way down to the size. I just want to know when can i get this done and how much am i looking at?? i've googled my brain away and i have such a rare problem that GOOGLE can't even help... so, i'm depending on yahoo :) thanks guys.

hmm, tough question. i think it does. like i dont think you can interpret what someone desires or what they think from the music they listen to. My parents just told us that the 3 foster kids that are staying with us are going to be adopted?

we have a large family. i have 2 older brothers (23 and 18), an older sister (20), a twin brother (we're 16). and when my twin and i were 8, my parents foster to adopted 2 brothers who are now 14 and 10. As of 2 years ago, my parents took into foster care 3 young siblings. They are now 2 boys ages 6 and 4, and a 2 year old girl. I am taking the LVN boards in California soon. I heard that there were multiple cutoffs for the test. I know that you need 85 questions to p, but if the test cut off is 85 and it keeps going on then when will it cut off. I had a friend take it and she said it cutoff at 160. Should I join Consumer Credit Counseling? They will charge me $468/yr to pay my bills with my money.?

It sounds great, I "only" have about $9k in credit card debt and it should be payed off in 3yrs. Right now I have very little money left after paying minimum payments each month. I will have $145.00 extra each month. However, I've looked into several credit reporting agencies FAQ's and they state that this may hurt you because the CCC agency will be "negotiating" your interest rates, which means you are not paying the entire debt that you agreed to off. I have enough negative items on my credit report so I dont know if this will put my good accounts into negative if i have to close them and then CCC ageny will also note that I am under a debt mgmt program. Any advise, my only alternative would be a consolidation loan, but i doubt i would qualify?

There could be several things going on: 1: Did you have the front end aligned? Alignment can cause a front end shimmy. 2: Did you have the front rotors machined as well? Rotors can warp and cause the problem you discussed. 3: Have you rotated the tires previously? Front wheel drive cars have a propensity for "cupping". This is where the inside tire wear is uneven but not necessarily noticeable as excessive wear. If they were rotated previously and then put back in their original location then you would not have noticed till the tires were rotated again into thier original position

How much are they worth these days. I have the original head , not the II model, and i bought it from a local shop used, but it hasn't been used much - the thing is in pristine condition with not a scratch on it , and not one nick in the Tolex covering. This is the one with 4 6L6GC power tubes and 5 12AX7A tubes for the preamp section. It works fine alright, but i don't use it much because it's a different tone than my main amp i used for years , and i never got used to the 5150's sound. All right, first of all, I'm just looking for answers to my question, not people criticizing me for using an illegal drug. I'm aware of what I'm doing and my life is still awesome. Now, moving on: I'm not a heavy or frequent user. In fact, I barely ever smoke it. I used to smoke it more frequently, however I was never a daily smoker. At most, I used to smoke about three to four times, every couple of weeks-but it varied; sometimes less than that...usually not more. But that was last year and the year before that. Since then, I've been making it something I do, occasionally. I smoked sometime in June, maybe a couple times, I don't really remember. I didn't smoke at all in July; the last times I smoked were either the end of July or beginning of August (and I only smoked about one-fourth of a blunt) and on August 6th, I took three hits from a pipe. As far as the weed, itself goes, it wasn't that strong because I barely got high and when I smelled it out of the baggie the last time I smoked, it didn't smell that strong.

I need to get a Masters degree, but even though my job will be ending soon, I dont want to go back to the U.S. to do it and go and live at home again. (I could do it of course, but this seems better suited to my lifestyle and I love being abroad) I know it is BETTER in terms of making connections and getting a job later to do it face to face, but this seems better for me. I wouldn't be doing it at a questionalbe place like U. of Phoenix, it would be a legit accredited brick and mortar school that offer online study, like University of Maryland, Drexel, Seton Hall, or Tufts. Spray a heat protector on your hair, then split you hair in layers using a large clip, ( I usually split mine in to 3 layers, but if your hair is thicker split it into more layers.) let down one layer at a time a straighten it really well from root to tip. Then let down the next layer and do the same, untill you hair is the way you want it. But be careful not go over the same piece too many times or it will start to get frizzy and smell burnt from being fried! I hope I helped& goodluck(:

Repeat question: How can I have an STD and my husband does not?

I went to the doctor last month for my annual pap. The nurse called me back and said that I tested positive for BV and trich. I have never had am STD in my life. I have no reason to lie, I have never in my life cheated on my husband. I have never been with another person ually except for him. He has cheated on me several times. I told him this last month around mid June. He went to the doctor and I saw a prescription for metronidazole later in the week. He said nothing else about it to me. Today, almost a month later, he tells me that the doctor says he doesn't have anything. He gives me a paper that says he is "negative for chlamydia trachomatis by real time pcr", negative for subtype and negative for neisseria gonorrhoeae". Those are the only things in the paper, no other tests are on there. So I asked him why did the doctor give him metronidazole. He said that ga told the doctor that I had it and she just gave it to him. I didn't think that doctoral would do this on your word...but maybe they do. I would at least think they would give you a test for trich also to at least ease your mind about having it. Nevertheless, I don't buy what he is saying nor the papers. He must have forgotten that he told me after he had the medicine that he had to go back in (probably for a recheck after taking tje medicine). Again, I don't have a reason to lie. I haven't cheated on him. I'm wondering id he is lying. Or could the trich lay dormant in him and not be detected for some reason during testing. Why isn't the test for trich on the sheet. I don't know much about STD's, but I'm pretty sure trich is not the same as the chlamydia trachomatis. Useful help will be appreciated. Again, I have never cheated and I agree with all that would say he is s. I just need to get a better understanding because I think he is either leaving information out or changed the results. I don't understand why a doctor wouldn't test you for a disease you say that your partner has, but instead just give you medicine. Thanks in advance.

Mom just had a salvage transmission put in her 95 Metro and it does the same thing. If the solenoids are internal-saw that in a previous question-how can both have the same problem? Is there a relay or if there is a TCM can it be flashed? Fluid and filter changed on both transmissions before and after installation of course. My husband was recently hurt at his job. He fell and landed on metal, the metal pierced his dominant hand and cut the nerve. He had surgery to try to repair the nerve to regain some feeling in his fingers. The doctor said that he will not get full feeling back, but they wont know for six months. The Workman's comp insurance paid him 70% for the time he was off for the surgery. They also said they will pay him for the mileage. Is that all we will receive? Is it common to offer a settlement after he is released? If so, is there a calculator or something to go by? We want to try and refrain from hiring an attorney, but we don't want to settle for less than he deserves. I did however divide the perimeter by 4 and then squared that number for you to get one guess which would be approximately 1/4 of an acre. This however umes the property is a complete square. However since it more than likely isn't I put in some numbers for a more rectangular piece of property. The maximum I figured it could be is an acre. That's a huge difference.You really need to find out what the length and width are to determine the acreage. Especially if you are looking to buy it. :)

You have two option for taking public transit from Fremont to Modesto. First you could take the ACE train from the Fremont station on weekday afternoons to the Manteca Station for about $10 and then transfer to the MAX shuttle bus for $2 to Modesto. You other option would be to take BART from Fremont to the Dublin Station and take a MAX Express bus to Modesto for $14 one way or $16 round trip from there during weekday mornings or afternoons. my husband is SSG in the infantry in the ARNG and will be deploying to Afghan next summer to relieve a troop or the following summer for their original rotation. At least this is what he has told me... my husband tells me things on a 'need to know basis' which I agree with. I don't want to know everything nor would I probably fully understand it anyway. My question however comes from a conversation we were having one night when he said that if he does go to Afghanistan that he doesn't think hes' coming back. I was shocked, firstly because he never says anything like that. I told him not to say things like that, that he had to think positive. But he said the odds would be against him....I do understand that its a very dangerous deployment and many guys are losing their lives...but does anyone know what the odds are? Maybe I shouldn't even be asking this. But I just keep hearing those words in my head. Hes' been gone 18 months before deployed over seas to Kosovo so I might be used to him being far away...but not used to him being in direct line of danger.
